- The President of India attended the “Skilling for AI Readiness” (SOAR) program, an initiative by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). This program integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) education into schools, preparing students and teachers for careers in a digital world. The government has allocated ₹500 crore to establish a Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for Education.
- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has achieved a major milestone with the Ministry of Defence granting Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for the SAMHO CLATGM (Cannon Launched Anti-Tank Guided Missile). Designed for the Arjun Main Battle Tank, this semi-active laser-guided missile meets the Indian Army’s requirement for engaging armored targets at extended ranges. Successfully tested at the KK Ranges in Ahmednagar, it can be fired from the Arjun tank’s 120 mm rifled gun.
